Paint Elevation
For my second project I chose this image I found of Cinderella and Prince Charming, only outlined by highlights. This painting was challenging because of how precise the highlights had to be in order to create the figures in the negative space.
To get the curved ellipse I made a paper template to cover portion on the right side that I didn't want spattered. Then, I spattered the curve with blue, lavender, and white to add dimension. Using the paint elevation I charted out the biggest stars and then scattered the small dots around them.
After painting the black background I spattered the dark blue and lavender color. When I first mixed the blue I matched it to my paint elevation, but after spattering a couple coats onto the board I noticed it wasn't showing up, so I went back and diluted the blue straight from the can and got the color I wanted.
The final step was adding the figures.
