Clarissa Boerner

This show was my first design role. The dresses were rented to fit the description the script provided and accessories were chosen based on the characters.

For my Costume Design class I designed two concepts for The Crucible. My first concept was historical costumes in black and white to emphasize the lies and corruption spreading. My second concept was The Crucible as a ballet, incorporating more elaborate textiles and decoration than my historical designs.

This green plaid pinafore was the first time I had made anything from plaid. Sewing it was an excellent lesson in problem solving.

My main job for The Fantasticks was designing the sombrero for The Mute. He was going to be made up to look like a sugar skull, so I painted his hat with similar floral designs.
